DGA Calculator is a free calculator provided by Vaisala to analyze transformer gas trends.
My tasks included:
- Designing a scientific calculator to analyse gassing trends in power transformer
- Co-design session with stakeholders
- Aligning with Vaisala’s design language and design system

Research and Wireframing
The design process began with my independent research and understanding of the methodology. Using this foundation, I drafted initial wireframes to facilitate communication with researchers, focusing on the calculator’s functionality and user needs. Through collaboration, we iterated on the design to refine and improve it with each version.
Final design and usability testing
The final designs, based on wireframes and aligned with Vaisala’s design system, ensured brand coherence. Collaborating with scientists, we crafted user scenarios, built prototypes, and conducted usability testing to refine the design for an intuitive user experience.
